A 24’ extension ladder with a stabilizer is the ideal tool for shingling. Use soft stabilizer foot covers to prevent scratching the membrane or shingles.

Most of the shingling can be done so that the ladder stabilizer feet rest on the membrane, not the shingles. The stabilizer feet should be the only part that touches the dome.

When resting the stabilizer feet on the shingles, position them toward the top of the shingle to reduce the chance of denting. A heavy concrete pile is used for ladder slip prevention.

Cut and bend a shingle to create the perfect color-matched flashing for the Egress.

Flash and shingle the Egress similar to the windows. Note the same hidden roof (flattened shingles) technique shown here.

Continue shingling until only the top pentagon remains. Always brace the bottom of the ladder (not visible) when the slope is this steep to prevent ladder slip.
