True to Form

Geodesic domes are faceted spheres.

It's what makes them so cool. Unfortunately, it's common practice to break the spherical form in order to make the space more livable. Each time the shape is altered, a bit of its coolness is lost.

This design avoids typical alterations associated with geodesic domes: No vertical riser walls, no extensions or pop-outs, no cupola, and no protruding windows. The rectangular skylight, which is arguably the least cool thing about the form, is discreetly tucked away in the back for code-compliance.

Faceted spheres are fascinating.
