Spray Foam – Prep

Spray foam photo number 01.

Wrap the door in plastic to protect it from overspray, and add cardboard to shield the entrance from dings.

Apply duct tape to create a smooth, snag-free corner for the spray foam hoses.

Pre-heat the structure if necessary. A warm surface and environment allow the spray foam to expand and adhere properly. Ideal temperatures range from 60°F (15°C) to 80°F (27°C).

Cover all of the window boxes with plastic. Staple plastic to the blocking.

Cover the egress window as well.

Spray foam photo number 06.

Dismantle the scaffolding and lean all subfloor panels against the walls. The floor will be sprayed first, then the panels can be relaid, and the scaffolding rebuilt.
