Electrical – HRV Unit

Unpack and examine the HRV unit. Label the intake and exhaust ports, and remove the access door to inspect the serviceable core and filters.

Create a cardboard mock-up to aid in installation. Note that the mock-up includes space for removing the serviceable core.

Use the mockup to mark the optimal mounting locations.

Install blocking, then secure the installation chain at the optimal locations.

Remove the adjustable damper blade from the intake port and secure the exhaust port damper blade in the fully open position. Balancing the unit is not necessary for this application.

Hang the HRV unit using the springs and chain as outlined in the installation manual. Cut any excess chain links to prevent rattling.
