Have all pieces powder coated for longevity and appearance. No primer coat is needed. Cardinal Paint’s Black Fine Texture C241-BK110 shown here.
The light texture hides minor defects and future hand prints without being aggressive enough to pull lint off a cotton towel during cleaning.
Detail shot showing the coating over a seamlessly blended surface, including some unground welds.
Move the larger railing into the dome in preparation for the lift.
Lift the railing into place. A step stool and work tables are used to make it a two-part lift.
Place spacers under any raised post feet, then secure the railing with black #10 × 2-1/2" washer-head wood screws.
Congratulations on completing the metalwork! The window buck trim will be installed after the acrylic coverings, and the smaller railing will be installed after the spiral staircase.
